Pajaro is a census-esignated place (CDP) in Monterey County, California, United States. The population was 3,384 at the 2000 census. The school district is in Santa Cruz County. The town, the name of which being derived from pájaro (bird in Spanish), is in the Pajaro Valley and borders the Pajaro River, which divides the city from Watsonville and Santa Cruz County.
