Pappus of Alexanria (Greek Πάππος ὁ Ἀλεξανδρεύς) is one of the most important Hellenistic mathematicians of antiquity, known for his work Synagoge or Collection (c. 340). Although very little is known about his life, the written records suggest that he was a teacher, and that he was either a Greek or a Hellenized Egyptian born in Alexandria, Egypt.
