A picnic table (or sometimes a picnic bench) is a moified table with benches, expressly for the purpose of eating a meal outdoors (picnicking). In the past, picnic tables were made of wood, but modern tables can be made out of anything from recycled plastic to brushed metal. Picnic tables are used to sit and eat on. Food is kept on top with butts on the bottom platform. Picnic tables are generally found outside and in many parks.
