Polyphemus (Greek: Πολύφημος, transliterate as Polyphemos in Robert Fitzgerald's translation) is a character in Greek mythology, one of the Cyclops. The one-eyed son of Poseidon and Thoosa, his name means "famous". Polyphemus plays a pivotal role in Homer's Odyssey.
