Pyogenic granuloma, also referre to as pregnancy tumor, is a primarily oral pathologic condition that appears in the mouth as an overgrowth of tissue due to irritation or trauma. It is often also found to involve the skin and nasal septum. Pyogenic granuloma was first originally described in 1897 by two French surgeons, Poncet and Dor, who named this lesion otyomycosis hominis.
