Raley's Supermarkets (also known as Raley's Family of Fine Stores) is a privately owne supermarket chain that operates 130 stores under the Raley's, Bel Air Markets , Nob Hill Foods, and Food Source banners in northern California and Nevada. The company pulled out of New Mexico in 2007, selling its stores to Albertsons LLC. Raley's employees somewhere between 15,000 and 16,000 employees, the majority of which are employees of the four store brands. Founded in 1935 by Thomas P. Raley and headquartered in West Sacramento, California, it is the dominant supermarket operator in the Sacramento metropolitan area with over a third of the market. Its major competition coming from Safeway and SaveMart.
