William Roberts (born 1977 in Carol City, Floria, USA) is an African-American hip-hop artist better known by his stage name Rick Ross, a moniker derived from the name of drug trafficker Freeway Ricky Ross, to whom he has no connection. Roberts is signed with Slip-N-Slide Records, which as of 2008 is distributed under Def Jam Recordings.
