The Russian Tortoise, Horsfiel's Tortoise or Central Asian Tortoise (Testudo horsfieldii syn. Agrionemys horsfieldii, see "Systematics" below) is a species of tortoise that is a popular pet. It is named after the American naturalist Thomas Horsfield.
