Samo (ied 658, ruled 623–658) was a Frankish merchant from the "Senonian country" (Senonago) (probably modern Sens, France). He established himself as a ruler of the Wends, establishing a supra-tribal union usually called Samo's empire, realm, kingdom, or tribal union. He is the first ruler over a Slavic polity known by name.
