Southwestern Bell Telephone, L.P. is a wholly owne subsidiary of AT&T founded in 1882 as The Missouri and Kansas Bell Telephone Company. It changed its name to Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in 1920, and then to its present-day name in 1996.
