Tzippori (Hebrew: ציפורי), also known by the Greek Sepphoris, in Latin Dioceserea, an the Arabic Saffuriya (Arabic: صفورية) or Suffurriye, is located in the central Galilee region, six kilometers north-northwest of Nazareth. It is the site of a rich and diverse historical and architectural legacy that includes Assyrian, Hellenistic, Judean, Babylonian, Roman, Byzantine, Islamic, Crusader, Arabic and Ottoman influences.
