The San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus (SFGMC), founed by gay-music pioneer Jon Reed Sims (1947-1984), was the world's first openly gay-identified choral organization, and is the world's largest. The SFGMC is widely known affectionately as the “grandfather” of the LGBT choral movement.
