Sikeston (pronounce /ˈsaɪkstən/ sīks'tən) is a city in New Madrid and Scott counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. It was founded by John Sikes (1816-1867) in 1860. The Sikeston Micropolitan Statistical Area consists of Scott County with a population of 41,143.
