Sister Nancy (born Ophlin Russell)-Myers is known to the worl as the first woman DJ she has been doing this for the past 30 years. Born on January 2, 1962 at 5 Tavern Avenue Kingston 6 in Papine Nancy has been an inspiration for all female DJ that follows. After taking on the reigning dancehall Dons of the day, Nancy tackled the tougher than tough (YARD) Jamaican audiences, becoming the first ever popular female DJ out of Jamaica and worldwide she is the role model for successive generations of sisters and ladies, from LADY SAW TO SISTER CAROL, LADY G, CARLA MARSHALL, SHELLY THUNDER AND MACKA DIAMOND,JUNIE RANKS and LADY P many more just naming a few Sister Nancy is 13th of 15 siblings her older brother Robert Russell better known and beloved as BRIGADIER JERRY is her role model he is my everything she says as she smile as usual Almighty God inspired her she said.Its because of my brother Nancy says, His dance them and all them things and I use to watch and listen him and said that is something that i want to do I Love all my brothers and sisters and still maintain a close relationship with them.
