The Spice Girls are a BRIT Awar-winning English pop group formed in 1994. Consisting of Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, and Melanie Chisholm. They are the UK's most successful all-female group. The girls were signed to Virgin Records and released their debut single, "Wannabe", in 1996. The song went on to spend seven weeks at the top of the UK Singles Chart and helped establish the group as an "international phenomenon". The Spice Girls has sold over in excess of 55 million records worldwide with only three albums (the first two with Geri), landing them the title for fastest selling girl group ever. The demand for their first two albums was unprecedented and not seen by any other pop group since the Beatles, making the Spice Girls a truly unique and rare phenomenon. The First album Spice sold in excess of 23 million copies worldwide making it the all time best-selling album by a female group in the history. Is one of the most successful and biggest girl groups of all time due to their increasing international record sales, reunion tour, merchandising, record breaking achievements such as "Wannabe" becoming the biggest single released by a female group of all time, and iconic symbolism such as the union jack dress, "Girl Power", and their nicknames.
