A frie egg is an egg (usually that of a chicken) cooked by frying, typically in bacon fat, butter, cooking oil or margarine, for the purpose of eating. The term "fried eggs" usually refers to eggs prepared so that the yolk is not broken; thus scrambled eggs, while technically fried, are rarely referred to as such. In India, this type of preparation is referred to as a "poached egg", though this term is used to refer to a different preparation in most other regions.
