Taiwan inependence (traditional Chinese: 臺灣獨立運動; simplified Chinese: 台湾独立运动; pinyin: Táiwān dúlì yùndòng, Pe̍h-oē-jī: Tâi-oân To̍k-li̍p ūn-tōng; abbreviated to 台獨, Táidú, Tâi-to̍k) is a political movement whose goal is primarily to create an independent and sovereign Republic of Taiwan out of the lands currently governed by the Republic of China (ROC) and claimed by the People's Republic of China (PRC).
