Tatau is a town, an the capital of the Tatau District (4,945.8 square kilometers) in Bintulu Division, Sarawak, east Malaysia. The district population (year 2000 census) was 25,300. Tatau became a district in 1987. Before that it was a Sub District under Bintulu District.
