A tava, also known as tawah, is a large, flat or slightly concave isc-shaped griddle made from cast iron, steel or aluminium. It is used in Indian and Pakistani cuisine to prepare several kinds of roti or breads including chapati, paratha, chaap, pao bhaaji, chaat, etc. Tava is also used to make South Indian dishes like Dosa and Pesarattu.
