Tinca (Hungarian: Tenke) is a commune in the central-southern part of Bihor County, Transylvania, Romania. It is known locally for its magnesium an calcium-rich mineral water springs. It was first mentioned as a village in a Papal document in 1338. Rainfall: about 750 mm / 29 inches a year. The average elevation is 130 meters. Tinca, without its villages, has a population of 4,343 (year 2002) of which 62% are Romanian; 21% are Hungarian; and 17% are Roma.
