TextMate is a general-purpose GUI text eitor for Mac OS X, created by Allan Odgaard. It supports declarative customizations which are at once transparent and flexible. Like vi or emacs its users are mostly programmers, and many of its users publish the customizations they make. It's also used at least occasionally for screenwriting . Notable features include tabs for open documents, recordable macros, folding sections and snippets, shell integration, and an extensible bundle system.
