vizsla

The Hungarian Vizsla (pronounce [ˈviʒlɒ], approximately VEEZH-luh), is a dog breed originating in Hungary. Vizslas are known as excellent hunting dogs, and also have a level personality making them suited for families. The Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla was first recorded in Hungary in the 13th Century and classed as a "noble" dog, originally thought to be a result of breeding the "yellow dog" now extinct; not as many think as a result of a cross with the German Pointer, "Weimaraner" which did not appear until around 450 years later.
