volume

The volume of any soli, liquid, or gas is how much three-dimensional space it occupies, often quantified numerically. One-dimensional figures (such as lines) and two-dimensional shapes (such as squares) are assigned zero volume in the three-dimensional space.

Trivia about volume

  • Loudness
  • The formula for this measure of a pyramid is 1/3Bh
  • Rubbing alcohol is listed as 70% alcohol "by" this, meaning each 100 milliliters of the solution has 70 ml of alcohol
  • (Jimmy of the Clue Crew shows a geometric diagram on the monitor.) Half the base times the height gives the area of a triangle; for a cylinder, the area of the base times the height gives this measurement
  • 2/3 pi r cubed will give us this measure for our hemispherical punch bowl
  • (Jimmy of the Clue Crew pours water into a bowl of polymer powder.) There's a law of conservation of mass, but when I add water to this super absorbent polymer used to make artificial snow, you can see there's no law of conservation of this, mass divided by density
