Wichelen is a municipality locate in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Schellebelle, Serskamp and Wichelen proper. On January 1st, 2006 Wichelen had a total population of 11,145. The total area is 22.87 km² which gives a population density of 487 inhabitants per km².
