The Nissan X-Trail is a compact crossover SUV prouced by the Japanese automaker Nissan since 2001. It was Nissan's first crossover SUV and used the Nissan FF-S platform. It was released at the same time as several companies introduced car-based compact SUVs including Ford with their Escape and its Mazda Tribute sibling, Hyundai with their Santa Fe and GM with their Pontiac Aztek. It is sold in Australia, Japan, Europe, Canada, Latin America, Malaysia, Philippines, India, Bangladesh, Taiwan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand, New Zealand, Australia, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
