I think that this person gives the appearance of being cooperative and yet whose continual procrastination and dawdling are really an unconscious manipulation reflecting hostility. The underlying dynamic here is spite, a desire to retaliate against those who are perceived to be hurtful. In his/her own eyes this person may see his/herself as a victim of circumstance beyond their control, but all his/her unfortunate failures—which ultimately block the plans of others—are unconsciously contrived. This person has a Passive-Aggressive Personality.
